JACKSONVILLE — Six people have been shot a few blocks from an NFL stadium in Jacksonville, and three are in critical condition, authorities reported.

Shots broke out Sunday afternoon at the intersection of A Philip Randolph Boulevard and Pippin Street, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The six victims were adults, deputies reported.

No suspect was yet in custody, and authorities are looking for someone in a grey or silver four-door vehicle.

The incident was blocks from TIAA Bank Field, where the Jacksonville Jaguars were playing. Deputies said the shooting did not affect fans at the game.

Five of the victims were found at the scene near a laundromat, another victim arrived at the hospital on their own. Jacksonville police said the victims range in age from 20 to 70 years old.

Investigators believe the shooter opened fire from the passenger side of a vehicle and said there could be more than one shooter.

JSO Director of Investigations and Homeland Security Ron Lendvay said they believe the suspects were driving a silver or gray 4 door sedan, possibly a Nissan Altima or Maxima. He said the shooting happened at 12:35 p.m. Sunday then the suspects fled off Pippin Street.

“This might be gang related,” JSO Director of Investigations and Homeland Security Ron Lendvay said.

A Phillip Randolph Boulevard, called APR by Jacksonville locals, isn’t heavily traveled, but is a popular parking spot for fans attending Jaguars games. Those fans will be escorted to their cars after the game.
