Lawyer Michael Avenatti, who represents porn star Stormy Daniels in her lawsuit against President Trump, said Saturday he has still not made a decision on whether he will make a run for the White House in 2020.
“How serious is your consideration of [a 2020 White House run]?†an MSNBC host asked Saturday.
“Well, my consideration is very serious. I have not made a decision yet,†Avenatti said. “I’ve been to over 15 states in the last couple months — gauging reaction, helping raise money for Democrats.â€
The so-called porn lawyer prides himself on being an advocate for women, and some speculate that his transition to a more public career would warrant a run for the White House. Recently, Avenatti has been on the campaign trail with Democrats and plans to continue up to the 2018 midterm elections.
Avenatti said Trump would be hard to beat in 2020, and that Democrats cannot expect to meet him with a “message of puppies and daisies,†but instead need to prepare for a “brutal campaign.â€
Avenatti said that he doesn’t believe women are going to support Trump when he runs for reelection in 2020.
