Graham: Saudi’s findings on slain journalist not 'credible'
By Jordain Carney - 10/19/18 07:50 PM EDT

GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.) said Friday night that he was not convinced by Saudi Arabia’s findings on the death of a U.S.–based journalist, saying it was an “understatement” to say he was skeptical.

“To say that I am skeptical of the new Saudi narrative about Mr. [Jamal] Khashoggi is an understatement,” Graham said in a string of tweets.

He added that it was hard to believe the findings, released by the Saudi government’s official press agency, were “credible.”

“It’s hard to find this latest ‘explanation’ as credible,” Graham said.

More than once, Pres Trump said he would "prefer" if US retribution against Saudi Arabia does not mean cancelling its $110-billion order for America-made weapon systems. He says that could cost 600,000 jobs. But won't announce a US response till he speaks to the Crown Prince.

Amazing figures, I would not be surprised if the jobs figure is off a bit but it is probably something like this. 110 billion is a lot.

Graham will have others back him up.... we will have to see. Again, this whole thing could have been avoided if they had done like Mossad or what the Russian spies do.

Graham really is a man of honor though, I can't go light on border security, sort of a hawk too. We will see. We are at the end of the beginning on this.

Of course it's not, Lindsey.  So, what do you want to do?  Demand that they come clean and possibly/probably destabilize the Middle East and give a boost up to Iran?

Drudge has up this byline, and that a replacement for Mohammed bin Saud, MbS is being considered.

That might largely bring an end to this so to speak. I hope he was not a real good reformer and that this would bring an end to reform because we know they need it.

Zero Hedge is so-so, take it with a grain of salt.

The major French daily Le Figaro on Thursday published a bombshell story which reports the Saudi royal family is actively considering a replacement to crown prince Mohammed bin Salman (MbS) as next in line to succeed his father King Salman as the kingdom finds itself under the greatest international pressure and scrutiny it's faced in its modern history over the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi — widely believed to have been killed on orders of MbS himself.

The Li Figaro report's unnamed diplomatic source says the Allegiance Council, which is historically the body responsible for approving the order of succession to the throne, is currently meeting in secret (translation from the French):

Probably so though.
