Trump threatens to cut off aid to Honduras unless it stops migrant caravan

President Donald Trump on Tuesday threatened to cancel aid to Honduras unless a group of Honduran migrants making its way toward the United States is stopped and returned to its home country.

"The United States has strongly informed the President of Honduras that if the large Caravan of people heading to the U.S. is not stopped and brought back to Honduras, no more money or aid will be given to Honduras, effective immediately!" Trump wrote Tuesday morning, among a diverse flurry of tweets.

Good for Trump!  I am proud of the President.  We need to stop the madness.

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Agreed.  Which brings us back to the WALL.  The wall is a physical deterrent to people trying to enter this country illegally. and is much needed.  Those who manage to make it over the wall can be immediately sent back.  It would NOT be the responsibility of the U.S. to take care of those on the other side of the wall. It is obviously a no brainer that it is easier to walk over an imaginary border than to cross through a brick, or concrete, etc., wall. The explanation doesn't get much simpler than that.

If you have several hundred people that are STOPPED (even temporarily) by a wall into this country, then the cost is worth it.  You can defend that wall with armed soldiers, drones flying overhead and mines if need be.

I find it absolutely ridiculous that we don't utilize the $$ that we have to defend this country with a border wall.  Instead we spend billions of dollars taking care of illegals after they arrive here and grant citizenship to those who are born to illegals.  What the heck is wrong with this picture?

Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Wow, @libertybele !

Land mines.  I thought about Marine Snipers.

It is absolutely ridiculous.  I saw the video of Lindsey Graham talking about legislation with deal on DACA for border wall funding.  When asked about chain migration it was nope, make it simple.  I say nope to him.  Stop chain migration.  Stop citizenship for illegal immigrant children too.

We have today informed the countries of Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador that if they allow their citizens, or others, to journey through their borders and up to the United States, with the intention of entering our country illegally, all payments made to them will STOP (END)!

Thumbs up; thumbs down. Surely that'll get their attention. Hmm......
Around 175 BC Lucius Attius told his fellow Romans, "Let them (Carthage) hate as long as they fear!!!"

I guess it would get their attention.  It seems extreme.  I probably would not approve of land mines.  But I would approve of snipers who's target is criminals like drug cartel.  Would it bother me if snipers pick off well armed Mexican Cartel?  Not at all.  These criminals are human trafficking, smuggling all kinds of drugs.  Rape, murder.  So I want them to hate us and fear us.  Right now they have free reign over the border.  So I read that Session is working on that also.  Praise to him for the job he is doing also.

I hope he is. Participants in these 'caravans' need official sanction to transit Mexican territory don't they?

Yes, and they should be applying for asylum in Mexico, not being assisted along in Mexico to reach the US.  (And, of course if there were doing that, Mexico would have their southern border shut down tight.)

Without Mexico's culpability, none of this would be occurring.  So yeah, Mexico should have been the first nation to notify of the consequences.  I just can't imagine why we would give Mexico one damned dime considering how they have worked to undermine our nation in this manner (invasion via illegal immigration).

What is wrong is that we apparently don't have enough Republicans in Congress who are willing to give the kind of support to the wall that we need.  Trump can't do it alone.  I hope the election goes our way because we know dang well the democrats won't support it.
Against stupidity, the Gods themselves contend in vain.

Exactly. Those citing international law as the reason we're obligated to take these refugees are dead wrong. The  first safe country they encounter is obligated to take them - that would be Mexico.

Sessions, SESSIONS?? Is he still alive???
Some suggestions.
Block/destroy all bridges spanning the border.
Send units into Mexico to disrupt the paraders w/tear gas.
Destroy their vehicles.

Absurd malarkey!!!
No nation/state is obligated to take any refugee, regardless of circumstance!!!
All immigration is governed by the concept of Sovereign Right, a four century
old linchpin of International Law, derived from the Treaty of Westphalia.
The citizens of any nation/state w/clearly defined borders decide thru their
chosen representatives who may/may not enter their nation!!!

Trump threatens to shut Mexican border down with the Military.  Good for him.  I hope he means that there will be armed military guarding all along the border where migrants come in as well.

I've noticed you put little effort into your posts. (two liners).  It also seems you put no effort into learning the truth.  Kind of like walking dead.  Empty heads.

The liberals aren’t happy with Jeff Sessions and that is good with me.  This article outlines what he has been doing to piss off Liberals.  Things that make me happy.

Jeff Sessions is the most underrated member of the Trump administration

Edwin Meese III, Opinion contributorPublished 5:00 a.m. ET Jan. 30, 2018 | Updated 7:38 p.m. ET Jan. 30, 2018

On the anniversary of President Trump’s inauguration and in the days leading up to his first State of the Union address, observers have rightfully pointed out the important accomplishments of his administration so far, including deregulation, tax reform and the appointment of exceptional judges to the federal bench. Largely unnoticed has been the extraordinary work that Attorney General Jeff Sessions has done in the Department of Justice to create a Reaganesque resurgence of law and order.

There was plenty of work to be done. Sessions inherited an agency that had ceded its basic duty to enforce the nation’s law: It oversaw the incompetent Fast and Furious program, which gave drug cartels nearly 2,000 dangerous weapons, one of which was used to kill a U.S. Border Control agent; it declined to file criminal charges against Lois Lerner, who led the IRS as it targeted conservative organizations; it chose not to enforce federal drug laws; it even sued the state of Arizona for trying to crack down on illegal immigration.

Sessions has restored integrity to the office of Attorney General and has already made significant improvements to the DoJ. He has signaled to the country that its federal government will again take law and order seriously. Sessions has shown this in three crucial policy areas in particular: immigration, violent crime and drug enforcement............
