Pledge of Allegiance Dropped at San Francisco School Board Meeting. Here’s What They Replaced it With.

on October 15, 2018

By Michael Stanley

Stevon Cook, the new president of the San Francisco school board, decided to get his term started off by dropping the Pledge of Allegiance during his first meeting.

However, while he dropped the Pledge, he didn’t allow that particular time to be empty silence. Instead, they recited a Maya Angelou quote. Gee, how progressive and patriotic.

Instead of the pledge, Cook read a quote from poet Maya Angelou: “When you learn, teach. When you get, give,” the paper said.
