Trump: 'I don't have an attorney general'
by Katelyn Caralle
 | September 19, 2018 08:49 AM

President Trump said Attorney General Jeff Sessions is so ineffective in his job, it's like Trump doesn't have anyone in the position at all.

“I don’t have an attorney general,” Trump told the Hill in an interview published Wednesday. “It’s very sad.”

Trump said he is not happy about a lot of things the Department of Justice is handling, and claims he had a blind spot when it came to nominating Sessions as the U.S. top law enforcement officer. Trump has long expressed his displeasure with Sessions after he recused himself from the Russian probe last year, but he said he has other problems with Sessions.

“I’m not happy at the border, I’m not happy with numerous things, not just [his recusal],” Trump said.

Just yet another case of the President of the United States trying to play the victim card.  The buck stops with the boss not the employee.

Yes.  Sessions has never had a chance with Trump.  Constantly shaming him on twitter.  I don't believe him on the border comment either.  I read different.  Its Trump that is ineffective at the border.  And he latches onto the gang of 8 Lindsey Graham.

Shame on you Mr. President.  Its almost as if I don't have a president at all.  Just a clown.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Trump is like many people I've known who could never admit to being wrong. It's always somebody else's fault and not theirs.

Nah, I think it was either the GOPe or Deep State that forced Trump to pick Sessions. Never mind that Trump is a tough guy.

I think that Trump is and has been throwing hints at Sessions to get him to resign on his own so that he doesn’t have to fire him. It’s the way most employers handle their employees to give them a benefit of the doubt. If they don’t quit, then they are thrown out on their keister. I think Sessions ain’t getting the hint.

Sessions is getting the HINT HINT NUDGE NUDGE loud and clear. He would have to be Helen Keller not to realize that Trump wants him out. Sessions, for whatever reason, refuses to take the hint. I don't know why. He must know by now that he is obviously the wrong guy for the job.

I've said before that Sessions does not have to be 'fired'. The best thing for Sessions, Trump, and America, is if Sessions would be moved to ICE or HLS or anything having to do with immigration. That is where Sessions is most motivated.

He gets the hint, it turns out he's just more loyal to the legislative branch than he is to the executive. He's there to keep Trump on a leash.

His time is coming. Once the elections are over, Trump has nothing to loose.

I never saw Sessions as a General Patton type, but I would have thought he would have done his job.

I don't understand two things:  Why does Sessions stay on through the constant abuse?  One would think pride would cause him to quit.

Why doesn't Trump just fire him?

Because the GOPe (RINOs) threatened not to confirm anyone else as AG if Trump fires him.

Seemingly in a near fetal position. Or is he in slumber, like many/most government employees?

I say "Pete principle."  Sessions reached a career pinnacle, to G-man.

So what? If Sessions is AG or not, it would make no difference in anything. Like Trump said, Sessions is an empty office anyway. No AG is the same as Jeff Sessions. If Trump fired him at least then he could start interviewing a replacement in earnest.

Valid point.   I would have already fired him anyway.

Well, I think that comes in second to stealing Americans' assets without charges.

I hear you. After seeing a couple punks passing a joint behind the local rec hall I thought to myself how swell it was that they would eventually be nabbed in a federal sting operation. Thank God Jeff in on the case!
