Another U.S. soldier killed in Iraq — ho-hum. Who cares?

A former Army Colonel I once worked with in the Pentagon asked me if I had heard of the Special Operations Aviator who was recently killed in Iraq during his ninth combat deployment?

Iraq? Who knew? Who cares?

Other than a few grieving family members, some friends and colleagues in the military, next to no one cares. No one.
