In a case that has been surrounded by secrecy and lack of news coverage, the trial of suspected ISIS supporters who plotted to kill the US ambassador to Suriname is underway, PJ media reported

The case is of interest in that it shows that the tentacles of ISIS have reached South America with supporters allegedly serious enough to plan an attack on American interests and personnel.

Suriname is a former Dutch colony located between Guyana and French Guiana on Brazil’s northern border, east of Venezuela. The trial marks the first-ever terror case in the history of the country.

A bit of Islam in the Caribbean area. Hopefully, not too mainstream and only in a few countries. That island nation, Trinidad and Tobago has quite a few. I guess, they came originally from the Indian subcontinent.

Paradise above.
