The August 20, 2018 resignation of retired Navy admiral William McRaven from a U.S. Defense Department advisory board begs the question why an Eric Schmidt-headed Defense Innovation Board (DIB) is still up and running in the Pentagon.
McRaven, who oversaw the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, that some say gave President Barack Obama most of the credit, resigned from the DIB on Aug. 20, four days after he wrote in the Washington Post that President Donald Trump’s actions revoking former CIA Director John Brennan’s security clearance “embarrassed us in the eyes of our children, humiliated us on the world stage and, worst of all, divided us as a nation.â€

On the DIB until he wasn’t, former Obama Czar Cass Sunstein, married to Obama’s former UN Ambassador Samantha Power is no longer listed. There is no reason stated for his quiet disappearance on the DIB home page.
