COLUMBUS — After former Democratic President Barack Obama made a quiet stop in Columbus Thursday night, the wealthiest Republican supporter in the state told an audience at Miranova’s Ivory Room in Downtown Columbus that he is fed up and has quit the Republican Party.

“I just decided I’m no longer a Republican,” said L Brands CEO Les Wexner, speaking on a panel discussion about civility during an event billed as a “Columbus Partnership and YPO Leadership Summit.”

“I’m an independent,” he said. “I won’t support this nonsense in the Republican Party. I’ve been a Republican since college, joined the Young Republican Club at Ohio State.

Wexner spoke warmly about Obama and about the theme of bipartisan civility, something he has been promoting in recent months.
Yessirree, nothing says bipartisan civility like B. Hussein Obama.

It does look like a ploy a bit with Kasich.

L Brands is circling the drain. They just announced closing one of their brands and Victorias Secret is showing loses year over year. This guy is a failure. He belongs in the Rat party.

Wow.... this Wexner fellow, L Brands.... do people know who L Brands are??
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L_Brands

"Its flagship brands include Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works. L Brands posted $10.5 billion in revenue in 2013, and was listed as #258 in the 2013 Fortune 500 list of top companies."

Per the article, Victoria's Secret was purchased around 1982, though this is not necessarily a deal breaker, it's not a positive to me.....sometimes, one does have to read up on these matters.

This "Partnership" bunch sounds a bit sketchy. Are they trying to be a midwestern version of the World Economic Forum that meets in Davos, Switzerland?
@musiclady , ever hear of them?

Nary a word @mountaineer .

But as to the complete loss of civility in the Republican party, I heartily concur.

Bring some of it back (along with even a modicum of conservatism and Constitutionalism), and I just might re-join the party I've belonged to my entire life.

Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

"Sometimes I think the Church would be better off if we would call a moratorium on activity for about six weeks and just wait on God to see what He is waiting to do for us. That's what they did before Pentecost."   - A. W. Tozer

Use the time God is giving us to seek His will and feel His presence.

Since Andrew Johnson, the leadership of the Ohio
GOP has been progressive left, featuring the likes of
Boner, Kasich and the rest of those buffoons.
Good riddance to Wexler another corporate hustler.
