Quote
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and his Democratic challenger, U.S. Rep. Beto O'Rourke of El Paso, have agreed to three debates before Election Day.

Announced Friday by both campaigns, the schedule calls for debates Sept. 21 in Dallas, Sept. 30 in Houston and Oct. 16 in San Antonio. Each event will be an hour long and vary in topic and format:

    Dallas: Domestic policy, moderated
Houston: Domestic policy, "town hall style"
San Antonio: Half domestic policy, half foreign policy; moderated

The Dallas debate will be at Southern Methodist University, the Houston debate will be at the University of Houston and the San Antonio debate will be at a studio there....

Cruz, O'Rourke agree to hold three debates in Senate race
By Chris Mills Rodrigo - 09/14/18 06:07 PM EDT

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) and Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D) are slated to hold three debates in their Senate race in the lead-up to the November elections, the campaigns announced Friday.

The candidates are set to appear in debates between Sep. 21 and Oct. 16. Each debate will be one hour long and they are scheduled to take place in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.

Both campaigns have wrangled over the number of debates they would participate in before November, with polls showing the nationally watched Senate battle remaining close less than two months from the election.

In April, O'Rourke challenged the incumbent GOP senator to six debates. Cruz countered two months later by suggesting holding five debates in October. O'Rourke rejected that proposal, which had all five debates happening on Friday evenings during high school football.

Originally there were to be 5 debates. The one he chickened out of was to be held on Aug31

As with any debate, those who like Cruz will see a genius on steroids.  Those who don't will see a smarmy preacher who hates women in general and babies of illegal immigrants (he's got to be careful here.... and not use himself as an example).

The most interesting part will be watching Cruz thread the needle supporting the President and his agenda ... and explaining his "vote your conscience" directive at the convention (which I assume will come up).

My bottom line on this race in Texas remains unchanged:  Keep the seat, Teddy.

Should be fun to watch.

Sounds good, unless the Rats seed the moderators with leftist morons who give the questions to a candidate in advance.

Please tell me they'll be televised. Please. I can't wait for the fake Hispanic to have his a$$ handed to him by Cruz.

This will be the first of three televised face-offs the rivals agreed to hold before Election Day
