Millennials would rather live in socialist or communist nation than under capitalism: Poll

'This troubling turn highlights widespread historical illiteracy in American society'

The majority of millennials would prefer to live in a socialist, communist or fascist nation rather than a capitalistic one, according to a new poll.

In the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation’s “Annual Report on U.S. Attitudes Toward Socialism,” 58 percent of the up-and-coming generation opted for one of the three systems, compared to 42 percent who said they were in favor of capitalism.

The most popular socioeconomic order was socialism, with 44 percent support. Communism and fascism received 7 percent support each.

So the Millennial generation will be the ones who close the book on liberty in this country for good, because we did not pass it on to our children and did not fight beyond voting for politicians.

Simple numbers really.  And when the debt and the laws of Economics reasserts itself over all our heads when all the artificial attempts to defy it come crashing down - Socialism/Communism will be even more palpable and demanded by a people who will then truly believe that liberty and Capitalism were to blame for it.

So another urinary contest between the capitalist & socialist fan clubs is about to begin. Hmm........
A reflection.
Around 8,500 BC Agriculture and Animal Domestication commenced in the Fertile Crescent.
As the centuries passed, one characteristic remained prominent in these cultures/societies,
namely the primacy of the spiritual as the anchor of the moral order of Man.
Then around 1750 AD, the Industrial Revolution was born, altering the previous characteristic
and hardly for the better.
Materialism emerged as the measure of achievement, namely how much stuff one has.
What is the conflict between capitalism and socialism about???
The primacy/non-primacy of the spiritual as the anchor of the moral order???
Why don't be silly; it's all about who has the best and most stuff.
For the Capitalist it's communal voluntarism while for the Socialist its collective non-voluntarism.
So what, as they're both talking about stuff/materialism and their ultimate objective is
direct and simple, namely POWER!!!
Anyone who truly believes that the very serious malaise that impacts our nation at its very core,
can/will be solved though economic betterment is well beyond delusional!!!

IOW, they'd rather live in a country that puts up a wall on the border to keep people in, not out.

I am sure that most of the Millennials that respond this way are college and University indoctri.....er, educated. I have two nieces that were raised Conservative, both highly intelligent and both with Masters and both now uber liberal on most things except thank God retain their Catholic values on abortion. One of my nephews a new Masters in Mechanical Engineering is now a Gaia worshiping man made global warming liberal while his brother(no college, no degree) is conservative.   My son after University with a Masters in English........liberal, while my daughter with no college remains conservative. So I contend the liberals and communists have succeeded in indoctrinating many many of our children in the higher education..................re education camps.

And it is a worthy hope. A close relative was a screaming liberal for a while, till she wound up busted flat and pregnant at my father's house... with her husband disappeared and strung out on crack... An AMAZING story. God is SO good! The happy ending includes a political shift to right-side libertarian, which is damn well good enough for me!

Both my sons are Conservatives So I lucked out there.

I still remember years ago, my son was living at home and unemployed back when he was getting his teaching credentials, and Obama was jacking up taxes and sh*tcare, my son opined that he didn't mind paying more in taxes to benefit others. I was laughing pretty hard when I reminded him that he wasn't paying any damn taxes at all! Now he married, to another totally indoctrinated woman( she has a signed picture of the kenyan and his, ugh, wife on display) , they both make good money but owe huge amounts in student loans and have two children to raise. Maybe one day I'll ask him if he's still happy to pay extra taxes...............but I want to see my granddaughters again.

I heard young people when I was in college many years ago pine for socialism. So this isn't terribly unusual for young people to have this viewpoint. They haven't experienced the real world yet and socialism sounds good to them now
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

I spent most of my time in science or math classes, even took archaeology courses to satisfy the 'humanities' requirement, so I avoided Socialist profs entirely. There were not so thick on a college campus then (I graduated in '78).
