..and joking aside, I did see a good argument today that it very likely could be Larry Kudlow; someone who abhors tariffs and would not be the type thrilled about all the calls to regulate the internet and social media. He would also fit the age demographic speculated due to some language used in the article. And he had already been a writer for the New York Times in the past and has seemed friendly with them. Plus, his recent heart attack may have him rethinking priorities.

Kudlow is a happy warrior. Always has been. He would never do this. He would just resign because of health issues and retire.

Think about it for a moment.  Have you ever seen @corbe and Huntsman in a room together?

I find it odd the the op- ed went out of its way to say good things have been done.
They said that it happened in spite of President Trump.
If it were a cabinet Secretary, or someone who belonged in a specific cabinet, their grievances, and praises, would be more connected to that role, that department, I would think.

I think it was someone who is closer to the President on a daily basis.
Not as high a level of a cabinet secretary, but more of a consistent visitor/advisor.
The interesting thing is that they are still there, ruling out a Prebius, Bannon, Mooch, etc.

That makes sense, I think.   The thrust of the op-ed is that the administration is succeeding in spite of Trump's erratic behavior,  due to the behind the scenes efforts of those who control access to the President, and the President's access to the levers of power.   I voted John Kelly or (more likely) someone on his staff.   I think it is significant that Kelly has perservered throughout all the noise and,  it has been suggested, his personal dislike of the President.  He is on record as being willing to continue to serve through the end of the President's term.    That sounds like the kind of discipline exhibited by a military man - with an eye single on the mission and the good of the nation.   It is also, I think, significant that Kelly himself is leading the investigation into the identity of the author.   He is therefore in a position to control the information once he acquires it.

@Sanguine

I voted for the first and the last items in the poll.  I assume that Mike Pence's wife is considered to be part of his "staff."  She hates Trump.  The final item, the NYT, assumes that the whole thing is fake (D'Souza's theory).

Anyway, have you noticed that there is a BIG push to try to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump?  It seems coordinated, time-wise, with the NYT op-ed.

Thanks, Doc.  It seems much of this depends upon what an "administration official" is.

I don't really care who it is and don't care to speculate.  I'm just sitting back watching the meltdown.

That's especially important since the NYT is known to exaggerate to the point of lying.

BTW, americanthinker.com had an interesting article (yesterday?) arguing that the op-ed anon was not a high-ranking official and may not even exist in the Trump admin (which is D'Souza's theory).  Full disclosure:  Americanthinker is actually my favorite website.

Today I saw something on another site somewhere claiming that the anon is actually a student at USC.  There may be a youtube vid for that one.

As I insinuated in my previous post, I think the whole thing is a concerted, conspiratorial frame job for attempting to invoke the 25th Amendment.

The headline says "Re: Who do you think the anonymous "senior official" leaker in the NYT editorial is?"

Where does it say Trump administration official?

If it's not it ought to be.

And, I owe @sneakypete an apology.  I did lose my sense of humor there for a minute.  Sorry, Pete.
