A difference of opinion? In politics? Both opinions coming from a shared ideological POV? Say it ain’t so....  wink777

Uh, no.  One side is trying to change the facts to fit his preconceived notion.

So the ends do justify the means.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, same old nonsense.

While you sit on your "high horse" looking down at all those less than perfect people who do things they shouldn't ask yourself how we've won the great battles in history. Lincoln ended habeus corpus during the civil war. In the end he ended slavery, was it worth it? FDR aligned himself with Stalin to defeat NAZI germany. Was it worth it? Churchill didn't warn a city that was about to be bombed so the Germans wouldn't know they had broken their codes. Was it worth it?

You guys really have to get over yourselves. Politics is dirty. It is a war.  The Rats have consistently advanced their socialist goals because they aren't "gentlemen". In return we've expected a bunch of genteel "country club" Pubs to get into a bare knuckle fight and win. It hasn't worked out so well.

I wanted Cruz because I see a willingness to be the go to the mat type fighter in him and he is an intellectual match for anyone. Trump won. Trump is rough around the edges, but he fights! He never quits. He may not be perfect, but in his short time in office he's done more to help conservatism than all the genteel types have in the last 30+ yrs.

Pride is a difficult thing to overcome. No one likes to admit they were wrong. You’ve got to point it out to them...

@bilo

I wish that silly Trumptrope could be put to bed, but I know it won’t be.

Trump is the furthest thing from a rough “street fighter”.  Y’all act like you never heard of him before he rode down that escalator.  He’s a pampered Manhattan penthouse dweller who gets manicures and spray tans and has his hair colored.

Tweeting is not “street fighting.”

Needs to be repeated.

Often.

He's not a "street fighter."  He's a whiner and a flailer.   From the safety of his cell phone and/or computer.

Fascinating to see the word "righteous" used as a pejorative...... without even the ridiculous ubiquitous prefix "self."

I thought that righteousness was something to be sought, not something to be derided......

And yet, here you are.

Great post @bilo   And great reminders of the compromises made by various leaders in the past.  I especially remember the mathematician who cracked the German code and I think he was a bit appalled that leadership allowed that bombing to occur.  But it may have helped win the war in the end.

As for Lincoln, he made serious mistakes, habeus corpus was just one of them.  My husband was always bitter about Lincoln.  Slavery could have been ended without the Civil War that almost destroyed America.

It is pointless to dwell on those decisions now, but it's good to be reminded of them.

And I agree with your last paragraph.  I was for Cruz also but Trump has been a good President and to hold his personal foibles against him in these troubled times ... times where the left really wants to turn the country into a socialist country with no moral values at all ... is something I don't understand.

Last paragraph...excellent!

I’m grateful that someone like Donald Trump made it to the presidency when he did, when I witness how elite bureaucrats (of both parties) have reacted to him, an unwanted outsider to their club.

This outsider opened a window onto the arrogance that’s been going on right under our noses, the sludge that’s been accumulating in the workings of government, and blowing it up.

If nothing else, Donald Trump deserves our thanks for that alone.

*****rollingeyes*****   If anyone gives a rat's arse about this story ... raise your hand.

IMO, time would be better spent helping the guy keep the Senate seat.

I'm not sure how people who keep insisting he's "Lyin' Ted" can support a known liar for the TX Senate seat.  Aren't we trying to drain the swamp of lying politicians?  Or not?

Really? So when did Donald Trump find the time to build his financial empire in addition to skyscrapers across the globe, and attend to his other hobbies like running the 500 or so entities operating under The Trump Organization?

But, that’s okay, that was just a rhetorical question. I’ve come to expect shallow posts from you, so no need to respond.

If you’d like you could always send along some suggestions to the president how he could be more effective and successful in his career – like you.

So Trump running the sleaziest and nastiest POTUS campaign in US history had nothing to do with it?

Trump will always be pure garbage in my eyes.

You know, at this point, --- almost three years later --- by still ranting and raving about how badly Ted Cruz was treated by mean Donald Trump -- I hope you realize you're making Cruz out to be a delicate, lily, limp little wuss.

So keep on bitching ....

You might of missed it, but this thread is about @LegalAmerican repeatedly claiming Cruz is on a Madam's list buying sex making him morally inferior to Trump right now. Not three years ago. This thread was started to set the record straight and expose the repeated lies. Spreading such lies and allowing them to stand does nothing to keep Cruz' senate seat in Republican hands which you claim to want. Somehow exposing the lies is damaging Cruz you say... You want it both ways it seems...

Wow...

Proving once again that the CDS here can be just as strong as the TDS.  Essentially it's a wash.

Roughly 30 hours since I started this thread, and no proof of Ted ever being on this Madam’s list has been presented.
