60 former CIA officials sign letter condemning Trump's treatment of Brennan
by Anna Giaritelli
 | August 17, 2018 07:08 PM

Sixty former CIA officials released a letter Friday evening condemning President Trump's decision to rescind the security clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan and said the action was comparable to the White House issuing a "political litmus test" to ensure senior government officials agree with the administration.

"All of us believe it is critical to protect classified information from unauthorized disclosure. But we believe equally that former government officials have the right to express their unclassified views on what they see as critical national security issues without fear of being punished for doing so," the letter, signed by analysts, officers, and other personnel, stated.

"Our signatures below do not necessarily mean that we concur with the opinions expressed by former Director Brennan or the way in which he expressed them," it continued. "What they do represent, however, is our firm belief that the country will be weakened if there is a political litmus test applied before seasoned experts are allowed to share their views."

Who was it playing politics with state secrets here?

So please, sign letters and make it known who you are. It is about time you are exposed as the corrupt political operatives you are.

Screw them!  Every last one of them!

The Author of the article is a carpetbagger from the Radical New Republic!

Obama should fire John Brennan

Quote
In March, at the Council on Foreign Relations, CIA Director John Brennan was asked by NBC’s Andrea Mitchell whether the CIA had illegally accessed Senate Intelligence Committee staff computers “to thwart an investigation by the committee into” the agency’s past interrogation techniques. The accusation had been made earlier that day by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who said the CIA had “violated the separation-of-powers principles embodied in the United States Constitution.” Brennan answered:

As far as the allegations of, you know, CIA hacking into, you know, Senate computers, nothing could be further from the truth. I mean, we wouldn’t do that. I mean, that’s — that’s just beyond the — you know, the scope of reason in terms of what we would do. {…}

And, you know, when the facts come out on this, I think a lot of people who are claiming that there has been this tremendous sort of spying and monitoring and hacking will be proved wrong.

(You can see the video of Brennan’s answer here.)

Now we know that the truth was far different. The Post’s Greg Miller reports:

Clearances are granted on a “need to know” basis. Any bets all 60 are “Beltway bandits” and likely registered deep state democrats?

All I "need to know" is that no EX anything needs, or should have, a clearance.

How would you prove that?  You didn't bother to look up any of their records, but why bother when you can make allegations out of ignorance like the President?

Szrok (?) certainly held strong political bias, didn't he? In fact, nearly everyone holds a particular political position on nigh on everything. However, when you're in a sensitive job like Szrok was (FBI) one must set aside one's ideology and serve the ENTIRE country!

The idiot left has no idea how this will backfire on them.  That there are 60 "ex-CIA" operatives (against Trump and evidently against the Constitution) out there just goes to show how far the agency has/had fallen.  Nice to know.   Necessary to know, in fact, if one is to even hope to do "clean up".

Are you being sarcastic?  Guilt of the 60 by association to Strzok?

Or perhaps.... guilt of the 60 (if it's even true).... by putting their signatures on the condemnation letter.

Do you remember the story of how George Shultz as Reagan's Sec State greeted his returning Ambassadors?

He pointed to a globe on his desk and asked them to show him which country they represented.

They, in response pointed out the country they were stationed in.

Shultz corrected them by pointing to the US.

"You represent the United States of America," he said, "Not the People's Republic of Whatever."

No, I don't remember that.   But I must concur with Schultz.  Sadly and unfortunately.... the leftist idiots of the 60s have spawned and multiplied and taken over certain aspects of America to the detriment of patriotism.   They skew and spin patriotism and loyalty to the USA as the dreaded "nationalism" of the Nazi regime.  They're just stupid (and dishonest) that way.

I don't care if it's 60, 600, or 6000!  If they are no longer in a post that requires them to have a security clearance they SHOULD NOT have one!  Period! End of sentence!

Why?  If a Trucker quits driving a truck should he have to relinquish his commercial driver's license?

Apples and oranges!  But I'll answer you anyway. Because they no longer have a need to know!

Oh puhleeeze.   Your apples vs. oranges comparison aside.... what 'other' corporate entity allows you to keep access to their computer system, database, network, etc.  AFTER you've either been fired or have quit.  Get real.  Whats's the point of even having "national security" or "classified data" if hyper-partisan idiots like Brennan can keep their access ad infinitum?

So who is sending them classified info after they leave?  Fire that guy.

They will need to know when they are called back to serve again.

Is that what "security clearance" means instant access to everything with no checks?
