Turkish pro-government lawyers have filed charges against U.S. military officers for allegedly having ties to terrorist organizations.

According to Stars and Stripes, the court papers accuse the officers of having connections to FETO, a group deemed a terrorist organization by Turkey, and call for the arrest of several officers associated with Incirlik Air Base in Turkey, including Col. John C. Walker, Col. Michael H. Manion, Col. David Eaglen, Col. David Trucksa, Lt. Col. Timothy J. Cook, Lt. Col. Mack R. Coker, and Sgts. Thomas S. Cooper and Vegas M. Clark.

The lawyers are seeking to stop all flights from departing from the base and requesting access to execute a search warrant.

The organization behind the filing, the Association for Social Justice and Aid, is reportedly a non-governmental organization of supporters of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The legal action comes amid increasing tension between the two countries over Turkey's refusal to release North Carolina Christian pastor Andrew Brunson, who Turkey claims supported PKK Kurdish militants and assisted a Turkish cleric based in Pennsylvania, who allegedly is responsible for the attempted 2016 coup against Erdogan.

Turkey needs to be tossed from NATO post haste.

They are not an ally.

They are quite the opposite.

Yup.  They have long since passed being useful to NATO...they have actually been the opposite of useful.

And they are certainly more friendly to the Taliban and radical Islam under Erdogan than they are to their NATO allies.

I did a quick check, the Turks are trying to go after people who were former and current members of the Command Team of the 39th Air Base Wing and a couple subordinate squadrons at Incirlik AB.  Those two Sergeants they mention are actually USAF Chief Master Sergeants.  I've met one of them before when I was in Turkey.

In 1920, Mustapha Kemal brought Turkey out of its Dark Past
while Erdogan is taking them back into the darkness.
The Turkish military needs to re-assert itself!!!

The military can’t do that.

Erdogan has  already executed or imprisoned any leadership that isn’t radical Islam or loyal to Erdogan.

Kemal, a Prussian Trained Commander, saved Turkey from a
crushing defeat in 1915 at Gallipoli, earning eternal gratitude
from the people and the Army.
Before the battle he told his troops; "The will to win will carry us to victory."
The Turkish military can do anything is wants; all it needs is the will!!!

You don't get it do you?  Erdogan has purged the military leadership ranks of anyone who might stand up against his turn towards radical Islam.  All of his field generals and general staff officers are adherents to radical Islam.

Any will to start a coup has been quickly and efficiently snuffed out.

Yep. The last "coup" attempt was probably just a staged excuse to clean house with no requirement for law or trial. Anyone in a position of authority that represented any opposition to Erdogan was deemed an enemy of the state and removed by force. No need for evidence, actual trial or anything else. Might as well be China now. That should have ended their NATO membership right there.

A Kemalist Turkey is a positive force in the ME -- an Islamist turkey is a danger.

Turkey's membership in NATO is long past its expiration date.

The Ottomans were the toughest in the Middle East for
centuries, never peeing-in-their pants and crying in the closet.
Mustaphal Kemal understood that and appealed to it.
You got anything else on offer but excuses and sob stories???

Are you like stuck in some kind of alternate universe?

Mustapha Kamal is DEAD.  The Ottoman Empire is GONE!

Here in the 21st Century Turkey under Erdogan is going full radical Muslim and pose a threat to not only Asia but Europe.

Nations rise, fall and rise again but great people never lose sight of their heritage.
Erdogan, Turkey's Maduro, is a sixtyish political flunky w/the gravitas of a cinder block,
the leadership attributes of Obama and who's a threat only to his girlfriends.

Just turn your projector off dude.

I don't know everything...but it's clear I'm more informed not he situation than you are.

Have any examples of nations rising, falling and rising again?

The Greek?

The Romans?

The Spanish?

The Brits?

Care to make any bets on whether the military will rise to its formal glory and oust Erdogan?

At this point I think that is nearly impossible.

Which is the point.

Greece, specifically Athens, under Pericles.
Later Greece under Philip of Macedon and then his son Alexander!

So the best you can do is 2200+ years ago for an example...

So with all that history in their blood are the Greeks going to rise again?

LOL!

You basically said that great civilizations have it in their blood and will rise again. That the Turks will regain their former glory based on this theory. So I asked for some examples of that happening. And you provided one from 2200 or so years ago... That doesn't really support your theory very well... But hey, if you want to believe the Turks are going to clean house again and throw off their Muslim chains you are free to do so. I just don't think there's any supporting evidence to make that case at this point in time.
