An 81-year-old woman was busted attempting to smuggle 92 pounds of heroin -- valued at more than $870,000 -- across the U.S.-Mexico border near San Diego, officials said.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection detector dog at the Tecate border crossing reportedly alerted officers Wednesday to the driver-side rocker panel of a 2011 Chrysler 200 trying to enter the U.S. from Mexico at about 11:30 a.m.

In the side rocker panels, officers said they discovered 34 wrapped packages of heroin.

The article ends with some government spokesman said the cartels will use anyone they can to smuggle across the border. I think that is a key. Virtually anyone though, it will be interesting to see how this woman was set up.

She should have gotten some third-rate pharmaceutical company to ship 10 times that dollar amount of something far more powerful (fentanyl) to some undisclosed warehouse in West Virginia.  People do that every day with zero worries of being prosecuted by our government.

Fishrrman's solution:
CLOSE THE BORDER. COMPLETELY.
No one comes in or goes out, except American citizens fleeing Mexico.
That's my serious proposition.

Only transfer of products will be conducted via air, sea, rail.
No human crossings.
