President Trump on Sunday night warned that if Iran continued with its threats to the U.S. the country would suffer unspecified "consequences."

In a tweet, written in all caps and directed explicitly at Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Trump wrote: "Never, ever threaten the United States again or you will suffer consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before. We are no longer a country that will stand for your demented words of violence & death. Be cautious!"

President Trump late Sunday tweeted out to Iranian President Rouhani to never threaten the U.S. again or face historic consequences.

The tweet came on the heels of Rouhaniâ€™s warning to Trump that hostile policies could lead to the â€œmother of all wars" with Iran.

Trump called for Rouhani to stop the rhetoric or--in caps lock-- â€œsuffer the consequences the like of which few throughout history have ever suffered before. We are no longer a country that will stand for your demented words of violence and death. Be cautious!â€

"They're treating us with much more respect right now than they did in the past and I know they're having a lot of problems and their economy is collapsing. But I will tell you this, at a certain point, they're going to call me and they're going to say 'Let's make a deal,' and we'll make a deal.' But they're feeling a lot of pain right now," he said.

Predictable. This got lost in the news last week, with all the other garbage he said last week.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday warned the United States not to "play with the lion's tail", saying that conflict with Iran would be the "mother of all wars", AFP reported.

"You cannot provoke the Iranian people against their own security and interests," he added in a televised speech at a gathering of Iranian diplomats in Tehran.

Rouhani repeated his warning that Iran could shut down the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping lane for international oil supplies. Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) recently issued a similar warning as well.

"We have always guaranteed the security of this strait. Do not play with the lion's tail, you will regret it forever," he warned, according to AFP.

"Peace with Iran would be the mother of all peace and war with Iran would be the mother of all wars," added Rouhani.

In May, Trump pulled out of the 2015 deal under which sanctions on Iran were lifted in return for curbs to its nuclear program. Washington has since told countries they must stop buying Iranian oil from November 4 or face financial measures.

I see we have a bunch of Iran fan boys on this thread. Personally I have not at all liked Iran ever since they took our embassy staff hostage back in 79. Oh and always calling for "Death to America"
is not very endearing either. But it's a free country so if you want to root for Iran over our president
feel free to got for it.

I'm pretty much anti-war but a war with Iran is a war I could support.

That's one thing he says that I do believe. His brother drank himself to death. Trump likes to blame his woes on others, so I can easily see him attributing a drinking problem to some sort of family malady, rather than a lack of self control.
