Papa John's Founder Allegedly Used N-Word On Conference Call
Noah Kirsch

John Schnatter—the founder, chairman and public face of pizza chain Papa John’s—used the N-word on a conference call in May, a source with knowledge of the event told Forbes.

The call was arranged between Papa John’s executives and marketing agency Laundry Service. It was designed as a role-playing exercise for Schnatter in an effort to prevent future public-relations snafus. Schnatter caused an uproar in November 2017 when he waded into the debate over national anthem protests in the NFL and partly blamed the league for slowing sales at Papa John’s.

On the May call, Schnatter was asked how he would distance himself from racist groups online. He responded by downplaying the significance of his NFL statement. “Colonel Sanders called blacks n-----s,” Schnatter allegedly said, before complaining that Sanders never faced public backlash.

One might read what he said and the rest of the article. It may have been to discuss racism but may have come off wrong.

This is only news to the perpetually offended.

Schnatter caused an uproar in November 2017 when he waded into the debate over national anthem protests in the NFL and partly blamed the league for slowing sales at Papa John’s.

He caused an uproar? The NFL just did an about face on the whole matter it was such a disaster of them. Forbes is bullshit garbage.

I DON'T CARE!!!
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

So, are we really at the point where just to reference somebody else using a certain derogatory word demands the referencer be banned/shunned/executed?    :pondering:

I think they have been too harsh on John Schnatter from what I understand, they haven't released the audio or the whole audio from what I understand. He was talking about how blacks had been treated badly in the US, it was more along these lines and saying something like and Colonel Sanders even "called them ______"; anyway, I heard the Michael Medved show covering this, he was saying you just can't ever say this nowadays, the word has a history of violence as well. He was saying no one should say this, including the wrappers and their derivative word.

Blacks take great joy in the fact that there is a word they can say that Whitey can't.   That's what matters to them.

Of course.  And that kind of idiocy is enabled by leftist Whiteys.  It's all part of that leftist divisive tactics of creating 'special groups' and ergo, 'special privileges'.  Ironic, eh?

I read a series of books about the exploration and trapper era, in America. The "N" word was widely used, and had no racial connotation.

FRead Trerry C. Johnston. who wrote 31 books, with over 10 million sold. The earliest and best known character was Titus "Scratch" Bass, and the term was mainly a positive one.

I think this was true in the day, since Johnston was widely respected for his research and authenticity.

Sadly Johnston died young. His 31 books focus most on the Plains Indians and wars, but plenty on related and non-other topics.

He wrote like James Michener, by staying in the region and researching extensively.

Here's a scene they couldn't do today, I'm sure when BBC runs the reruns they've removed this scene.

So apparently Schnatter should have said that Col Sanders used "the n-word," even though that would make the quote inaccurate. Saying "n-word" is okay when you're recounting what someone else said, because if you use the actual word they used - no matter how much you disapprove - it makes you the most horrible person on earth, worse than the person who actually said it first. Got it.  *****rollingeyes*****

Excuse me while I whip this out ... I mean, excuse me while I pop my Blazing Saddles DVD in the machine, just for a little perspective.

They wanted him out, kinda like the CEO at FireFox who didn't support gay marriage got PCed out. I had some Pine trees in the yard, my uncle (die-hard democrat) called them "N*g&%r pines"... I thought it was a horrible name, but obviously it was at one time quite common.

Pinus virginiàna or Jersey Pine or Scrub Pine.

Quote
In sandy soil, Long Island, New York to Georgia, Alabama and southern Indiana and Tennessee, sometimes forming forests. Ascends to 3300 ft. in Virginia. Wood soft, weak, brittle, light orange; weight per cubic foot 33 Ibs.  April-May.  Called also Short-shucks, Short-leaved or Short-shot Pine; Spruce, Cedar, bleep and River-pine.

Opps I quoted Wiki (and my liberal Uncle Bill)... perhaps now someone will make it their life's goal to track me down and ruin my life.

I DON'T CARE!!!

I don't care either except that people's lives and businesses  are being destroyed over a word. This is the craziest thing I have ever heard of.
