20 hurt in mass shooting at New Jersey art festival
By The Hill staff - 06/17/18 08:27 AM EDT

Two suspects opened fire at an arts festival in New Jersey, injuring at least 20 people, authorities say.

One of the suspects was killed.

The incident happened at about 2:45 a.m. ET on Sunday when officers were called to reports of shots being fired at the "Art All Night" festival in Trenton, about 52 miles southwest of New York City.

New Jersey has very strict gun control laws.

So I find this story incredulous.

The shooters must have been cops or millionaire leftists because nobody else in NJ is allowed to have guns, and we KNOW gun control works and makes us all safe because the cops and millionaires tell us it will work and make us safe.

Nearly two dozen people were injured after gunfire broke out early Sunday during a fight at an all-night art event in New Jersey’s capital city, leaving one suspect dead and authorities investigating if any others were involved.

Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said at a news conference that a total of 20 people were injured in the shooting, 16 of whom were treated for gunshot wounds at nearby hospitals. A second suspect is in custody.

"It's a massive crime scene," Onofri said.

The gunfire involving "multiple individuals" happened shortly before 2:45 a.m. at the 24-hour Art All Night show in the Roebling Market section of the city, according to Onofri.

"Art"  "All Night" and "New Jersey" all in the same sentence.

Why do I gather that the sales of Renoir's and Monet's were not involved?   :silly:

Not what you would expect at an Arts Festival.

Maybe they should limit the booze and keep it to day time hours....

No one ever told the organizers nothing good happens after midnight.

I wonder what kind of 'art' was on display.

Correct me if I'm.wrong but didn't the Garden States new Leftist Governor implement some tough new gun laws and roll back some previous laws as well?

I thought that was supposed to stop violent gun crimes like this?

This reminds me of back when people thought that inner city Midnight Basketball tournaments were a good idea.

Art kills.

But seriously, many musical acts, food trucks, etc.
It could have been a nice thing, but for some people.

@txradioguy

It does. Must have been cops and millionaires doing the shooting because nobody else in NJ can legally own or possess guns.

I'm shocked too.  Shocked to learn there is such a thing as "Art" in New Jersey.

I don't know about anywhere else, but in Pittsburgh the annual arts festival has little to do with art these days.  Mostly, it has a lot of stalls selling junk jewelry, numerous concession stands selling lousy food and free concerts featuring mostly unknown rappers and hip-hop artists.  The latter in particular is what attracts the feral "yoots. Trenton shooting: Suspected gunman killed at Art All Night was gang member with violent past

http://www.nj.com/mercer/index.ssf/2018/06/multiple_people_shot_1_dead_at_art_all_night_event.html

Quote
Tahaji Wells was shot and killed by police after allegedly exchanging fire with at least two other suspects in a burst of violence that injured 22 people, 17 of whom were shot, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri said during a press conference Sunday evening.

The shooting appears to be a gang-related dispute, Onofri said.

>major snip<

It is possible that some victims were injured by cops' bullets as officers were shooting at the suspects, officials said. How many shots were fired in all is still under investigation, they said.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
