LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Presidential candidate Ben Carson recently took a helicopter tour in Arizona, flying quickly over known drug cartel way-stations near the border. And why not travel this distance by car? The reason is because it's no longer American territory.
According to Pinal County Sheriff, Paul Babeu, a swath of land, 70 miles inside the American border, is controlled by the Mexican drug cartels. For them, the desert is a broad highway into the United States, and there is never a traffic jam.
Heavily armed soldiers of the drug cartels patrol this region, escorting and ensuring the safe passage of drugs into the United States. And make no mistake, these are not mere thugs, these are trained, armed soldiers, veterans of the revolution that has gripped Mexico for the past several years. They have modern equipment and a chain-of-command like any credible military has.
Pinal County is just one of the injection points for dope into the United States. There are several such places along the border where the American rule of law no longer applies. American law enforcement who travel these areas do so at their own risk. As a result, many don't bother, the land belongs to the cartels and everybody knows it.
What is happening is not happening "at the border." It is happening within the United States. The border is merely a line, drawn on a map. It is as thin as a sheet of paper. However, on the other side of that line is sovereign United States territory. That territory isn't controlled by the USA.
Every public official swears an oath, so help them God, to defend the territory of the United States. At which point a single drug cartel soldier steps foot into the country, at which point there is a square foot of land where U.S. officials feel they cannot go, our representatives have a sworn duty to respond with whatever force necessary to repel the invasion.
Every politician talks about "border control" and "immigration reform" but most Americans now realize these are empty phrases which have no meaning. They are merely cast about as platitudes to soothe voters into a false sense of security. The truth of the matter is, if a single governor or president wanted to "control" the border, they could do so in an instant. It only takes the stroke of a pen.
Governor Abbot of Texas, why haven't you called up the National Guard to defend your state from invasion, as is your sworn duty?
Governor Susana Martinez of New Mexico, why haven't you called up the National Guard to defend your state from invasion, as is your sworn duty?
Governor Doug Ducey of Arizona, why haven't you called up the National Guard to defend your state from invasion, as is your sworn duty?
Governor Jerry Brown of California, why haven't you called up the National Guard to defend your state from invasion, as is your sworn duty?
Senators and Representatives of the Border States? Why haven't you called on President Obama to defend the border? Not with more border patrol, but with a powerful, military effort, the only means by which an invasion of this scale can be countered?
Above all, President Obama, why haven't you deployed the Marines to hunt down these invaders and to burn them out of their safehouses and caves?
Why is it we have no problem sending the United States Marine Corps into houses in Iraq to clear out terrorists, but we can't send the Marines to defend our own country?
Why hasn't the Army been deployed to establish a no-go zone along the length of the border? Are we to believe that the world's most powerful military, equipped with drones and other high tech equipment and the best training on the planet can't defend a strip of desert?
The reason why not one of these people have acted to protect the border and more importantly, the citizens of the United States, can only be because they profit from the problem in some way.
It appears they are literally renting sovereign American land, including the private property of thousands of Americans, to the cartels.
Drug cartels are notorious for their political control. It is a cliché of Latin American politics that every politician is on the take for one cartel or another. In fact, it's dangerous to your health to enter Latin American politics without the protection and help of a cartel.
Is it so far-fetched to imagine that the same this is happening here?
American politicians love money. What politicians don't ask for it? Money is the staple of their campaigns, and to get it they sell themselves to lobbies and corporations. It is just one more natural step to accepting drug money.
No oath-sworn patriot can abide an invasion. If sovereign American territory is in the hands of an enemy, then every patriot has a moral obligation to repel that enemy. And if one capable person refuses to do their part to repel the enemy, then there can be only two reasons why. The first is cowardice, and the second is treason.
So, Abbot, Martinez, Ducey, Brown, Obama, even John McCain and others, which is it?
Are you a coward?
Or a traitor?

What Nancy and many politicians do is use migrants as an excuse to do nothing. They apparently think that it is moral to drug our population with cartel drugs. It is moral to let Cartel traffic young women in the sex slave business. It is moral to kill people and dump their bodies in the desert. We need to force Mexico to deal with Cartel crime. But we don't because we are in bed with them.
