Who Will and Who Won't Get the Flu?

By Robert Preidt

THURSDAY, June 14, 2018 (HealthDay News) -- Doctors can't yet predict if someone exposed to the flu will become sick. But such predictions may be getting closer to reality, new research hints.

Researchers at Stanford University School of Medicine say they've identified a "biomarker" that indicates a person's susceptibility to flu viruses.

A typical Adult Over 30 Gets Flu Twice Every 10 Years per a study in WebMD https://www.webmd.com/cold-and-flu/news/20150303/typical-adult-over-30-gets-flu-twice-every-10-years-study#1

So, I guess we could work backwards and if you get it that or more than that, you may have the biomarker; less, probably not.

This article explains that it is a mite more complex than most might think.

For a vaccine to be most effective, it must have the right hemaggluten variety (H1-18) coupled with the right neuraminidase (N1-11). That is a lot of possible combinations, and that's only Influenza A.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
