Dennis Hof, Nevada’s most famous pimp, wins GOP primary

Wednesday, June 13, 2018 | 2 a.m.

Pimp Dennis Hof, the owner of half a dozen legal brothels in Nevada and star of the HBO adult reality series "Cathouse," won a Republican primary for the state Legislature on Tuesday, ousting a three-term lawmaker.

Hof defeated hospital executive James Oscarson. He'll face Democrat Lesia Romanov in November and will be the favored candidate in the Republican-leaning Assembly district.

Hof celebrated his win at a party in Pahrump with Hollywood Madam Heidi Fleiss at his side.

Strange, typically it is prostitutes that make the transition to politics as they are already well versed in screwing the public.

Might be sign of future government use of private contractors...

I like this guy. He owns a business and works in the real world, something many GOP legislators know nothing about i.e.; Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell.

Nevada was blue in the last election, it may be shifting and perhaps this Hof doesn't have a chance.  If I were out there, I would really need to examine my conscience to vote for him.

Hof operates within the laws of the state of Nevada, so say what you will about prostitution as a business, but he does so legally, and he is therefore NOT a criminal.

The GOP has become a different kind of creature out in Nevada.  Though, it is a different issue out in Massachusetts, the GOP platform there has some notable differences from say some state like Missouri or most of the others.

Thank goodness for Trump paving the way for the GOP to keep traditional wholesome family values.

My guess is he probably knows more about collecting money from people who are getting screwed than most of DC, and that's saying something.

Here's the problem Jackson. Child pornographers, met producers and assassins for hire are breaking the law. Dennis Hof is providing a legal service. He is also successful at it. He knows how the real world works. He is who should be in our party legislating. On the other hand you love people like John Kasich who is so out of touch with the real world that he has to keep talking about a dead relative that had a govt' job to tell people he knows about the real world.

Since I finally put him on Ignore several months ago, I have noticed a refreshing improvement in, not only the conversations on this forum about morality, but also the intellect, maturity, humor, linguistic ability above his two word vocabulary, and a corresponding decrease in ennui.

If he wants to think that sex trafficking is gainful employment, more power to him.

(But I think he doesn't.  He just thinks "poking" me is fun, rather than just being stupid.  Fortunately, I almost never see him embarrass himself any more, and that's a good thing  :beer:).

This should be interesting.

On issues, if one were to take out his job title (or just replace it as small business owner) he is pretty far right on most issues, to the point he has supported Libertarian candidates and was a LP member in the past. He actually has a longer track record on those issues than certain other lauded politicians.

But will traditionalists like his job or that he is pro-pot, or former (if you take his word for it) 9/11 truther.

And is he trustworthy or is he a showman who is riding on the popular train of the time. He has been mimicking Trump on a lot of things, like Immigration, which he flipped since supporting Ron Paul a few years ago. He even copied Trump's book and wrote his own "The Art of the Pimp" almost matching the chapters up (albeit, I suspect Hof's version is more ethical).

But, he is in a very, very red area and the guy he is running against is scum and there aren't any other options from third parties so I suspect we may be seeing him in Nevada legislature pretty soon.
