Democrats Flip Missouri Senate Seat Long Held By GOP
It's the 42nd state legislative seat that Democrats have turned from red to blue during Donald Trump's presidency.

Democratic state Rep. Lauren Arthur flipped a Missouri state Senate seat on Tuesday, triumphing over Republican state Rep. Kevin Corlew by a double-digit margin in Missouri’s first special election since the resignation last month of Republican Gov. Eric Greitens.

Arthur, a former middle school teacher, is the first Democrat to win the state’s 17th Senate District seat in more than a decade, according to the Kansas City Star. She amassed 59.6 percent of the vote, compared with 40.3 percent for Corlew. It was a district that both Donald Trump and Mitt Romney had won by a 4-point margin.

Arthur’s victory marks the 42nd red-to-blue flip in state legislative races since Trump became president ― and it continues the Democrats’ successes in suburban areas.

Following Arthur’s win, a Missouri Republican consultant issued a warning to the GOP for the looming November midterms.

“Every suburban Republican should be petrified tonight,” the consultant told the Star, speaking anonymously. “This devastating loss signals they could lose this fall.”

Actually it show that you are an incompetent azzhole since all your consulting resulted in a loss. You are the one who should be worried because it is your and only your fault for this loss.

Make a meal out of it, a state representative is now Democrat and was previously Republican for a long time.

There are something like 118 Republican representatives to 45 Democrats, maybe this flips it to 46 Democrats, 117 Republicans.

Though, maybe not good news, it appears to be pretty minor. Also, there may have been very low voter turnout and other factors at work.

"Republican Gov. Eric Greitens."

His problems could have everything to do with it and he's only been a Republican for a few years.

How far are the libs going to push this crap balloon till they figure out it's just going to blow up in their faces?

The special election was about 28% of the '16 vote. Just because you get all the hard core commie kooks out there to vote Dem is not a trend or something significantly statistical.

In fact, just the opposite. You just shot your wad and let the whole world know it. You've telegraphed your peak base despite all the frenzied effort to drive them out to vote.

Now, what about the rest of the Dems and Indies that you obviously don't have, that you will have to get in the general?
The Republic is lost.
