This week in Congress: Burn pits back in the spotlight
By: Leo Shane III   1 day ago

WASHINGTON — House lawmakers will take up the issue of burn pits this week with a hearing focused on how much is known about troops health effects after toxic exposure to the waste fires overseas.

A series of lawmakers and veterans groups have pushed to revive the issue in recent weeks amid concerns that the problem — well-known to troops who served in Iraq and Afghanistan — has largely fallen out of the consciousness of the public and elected officials.

I'm glad this is back in the news, as much as I've defended the Bush administration, this is an ultimate fiasco. How could something like this have happened? Many good soldiers have died from it. Just being truthful. No agenda.  One needs to recognize faults as well. Even Senator Cotton has said so.  We definitely need to be kept up to date on this.
