At least seven killed in suicide bombing at Kabul religious gathering

June 4 (UPI) -- Multiple people died Monday in a suicide bombing in Kabul, Afghanistan, authorities said.

The attackers approached on foot at a gathering of Muslim scholars near Kabul's Polytechnic University and left at least seven people dead, Afghanistan's Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish told Al Jazeera.

Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health spokesman Waheed Majrooh said at least 12 injured people were transferred to emergency units after the bombing.
