Gina Ortiz Jones won the Democratic primary for the House seat in Texas’ 23rd Congressional District, bringing her closer to becoming the first-ever lesbian and Iraq War veteran to represent the state in Congress.

Ortiz Jones defeated Democrat Rick Trevino in a run-off on Tuesday, after the two were the finalists among five candidates running in a March primary, HuffPost reported.

I had to read the title 5 times to "get it".  No way am I reading the article.

This district includes Bordertown El Paso (DemocRat) and some rural oilpatch (outside Midland/Odessa) (Republican).  It tends to switch hit swinging D to R to D to R.
