Fully-restored Memphis Belle unveiled

The B-17F Memphis Belle is a national aviation treasure and widely recognized symbol of American bravery and heroism during WWII. The Memphis Belle will be placed on permanent public display exactly 75 years after its crew finished their last mission in the war against Nazi Germany on May 17, 1943. See the opening ceremony live from the National Museum of the United States Air Force at 6:30 pm EST May 16, 2018.

Cool video

I have an uncle who was a B-17 pilot he was shot down some where between Germany the channel in 1943 and was never recovered, one of my Aunt's fiance was a crew member of a B-17 and was lost over Germany also in 1943. I have seen a few B-17's close up and am always amazed how small it is, it usually had a crew of 10 had to be cramped as hell. Don't think many today could have cut....

I have found in my travels that the talent pool available to the local tv affiliate markets has shrunk like Frank Castansa after a cold pool swim.

I was at the museum on the 17th.  You can be sure the crew would have been extremely proud of the way the Belle looks.
