The ever-well-meaning Starbucks Chairman, Howie Schultz, more terrified of bad publicity and claims of racism than anything in the world, has just announced a rather customer-unfriendly policy of opening Starbucks bathrooms (as well as table space) to all comers, including people who won't spring for a $4 cup of coffee. Speaking to the Atlantic Council, according to the Washington Post, Schultz said:

“We don’t want to become a public bathroom, but we’re going to make the right decision a hundred percent of the time and give people the key,” Schultz said, “because we don’t want anyone at Starbucks to feel as if we are not giving access to you to the bathroom because you are less than.”

Well, yes you do, Howie. If you open the bathrooms to all comers, including non-paying customers, you're turning Starbucks into a public bathroom. How stupid do you think we are?

I think it's funny.  All those hipsters and and aging hippies can share their space.

Another reason, besides overpriced coffee, to avoid Starbucks.

I wouldn't set foot in a Starbucks if you paid me to. Their coffee is overpriced, overrated and their attitude sucks.

Dunkin Donuts rules.

They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

McDonalds sells good coffee.   Their French Vanilla sugar-free iced coffee is great!

I wonder what the little hipsters will do when Starbuck's eliminates the free WiFi because it's attracting the non-paying crowd?  It wouldn't be hard, just start issuing one-shot WiFi passwords to paying customers.  Lots of companies do that.

Of course, this is Starbuck's, so they probably aren't bright enough to figure that out.

Long ago, I twice tried Starbucks in Manhattan where competition is never but a short walk away. Don't know how they stay in business with that coffee.

I also like Dunkin Donuts coffee.

They do not know or understand what kind of fresh hell they are bringing down on their own head. I hope all those prissy little stuck-up baristas like cleaning poop off the floor and walls. Because that is going to become a big part of their life from now on.

And as someone posted, a lot of cafes had to do away with free WiFi because perverts would come in and sit there all day downloading porn.

I believe that Starbucks has good intentions. But they do not have the experience or street knowledge to understand what they are inviting into their world.

The homeless who wish to be homeless will go there and stay all day until they close at night.  Would not be surprised if they then raise hell because Starbucks won't stay open all night.

Long before that, the stench from the homeless that this clown is inviting into their dining/seating areas will drive paying customers out. If you have never enjoyed the, shall we say unique fragrance of the truly homeless, it is an experience to be avoided if at all possible. It is an aroma that does not leave when the homeless leave, it tends to permeate everything that it has come in contact with and takes the strongest cleaners and disinfectants to remove.

This asshat who has effectively told Christians that they are not welcome has invited the noxious and odorous to freely use their seating and restrooms. Even if I didn't avoid them because of overpriced foul burnt coffee, the atmosphere they are encouraging would surely keep me away.
