He's in his early 70s too. Not performing today as far as I know but last I heard he was still teaching jazz in NYC.

Came out of Chick Corea's 70s prog project. Stanley Clark and Lenny White.

Auditioned with an old Super Reverb (50 watts) And immediately had to go buy Marshalls 'cause he was never loud enough. Sheesh!

That was great. Perfect illustration of what the guys in my last posting were on about with Computer DAWS auto correcting every bit of time by snapping tracks to grid, pitch correcting them and auto adjusting the volume of every note, though that's not exclusively a computer sin. Engineer/producers have been over compressing recordings for decades before DAWs to make them louder than the next cut.

THIS is the blues.

I miss the days of tape recorders in the studio, when musicians had to actually Play their instruments - like this - rather than type in the whole performance. This is alive. You know it's people breathing and leaning into it.

The computer stuff isn't.
