California school will revise mural portraying Trump's head on a spear

A mural at a San Diego-area charter school will be changed so it no longer portrays President Trump’s head on a spear, officials from the school say.

According to MAAC Community Charter School director Tommy Ramirez, the mural does “not align with our school’s philosophy of non-violence.”

“We have been in communication with the artist — who has agreed to modify the artwork — to better align with the school’s philosophy,” Ramirez said in a statement.

The school has a "policy of non-violence?"  My recommendation to them would be to paint that ugly-ass mural over completely and start over.  It has violent symbology all the way from the man carrying the shield and sword on the far left to the impaled trump head  on the far right.  The fellow in the middle doesn't make me think "peaceful" either.

With such wonderful cultural influences like Kathy Griffin and her ISIS recruitment pictures of her with the dripping decapitated replica of the leader of the free world’s head as well as the hanging in effigy of the POTUS by ANTIFA extremists during their May Day celebrations we are now at a point in this nation’s history where it is acceptable to publicly fantasize about the assassination of the president.

Well, they're said to be having her change the mural to something non-violent. My guess is that the change will still be less than flattering.

That painting is horrible.  Did no one in charge see this as it was being painted?
The killing of anyone is horrible.  Horrible is the only word I can come up with to say how horrible it is.  Also horrible was was the Halloween Trump face the comedian woman poured ketchup on to be blood on it.  Crazy people will believe it is okay to do these things for real.

I'm sure the people in charge saw it, and approved until complaints started coming in.  For educators they aren't very bright.

A charter school in Chula Vista, Calif., just south of San Diego, got its name in the news for hosting a mural featuring a bloodied severed head of President Trump.

After a public outcry, the school acted quickly to cover it up, and got the "artist" (Sasha Andrade, who has no record at all on the Internet of creating any art) to change it, apparently under protest.

Instead of citing the highly politicized content of the mural, which would make it Cuban-style propaganda, or perhaps something redolent of what the Sandinistas of Nicaragua put up before the voters threw them out in 1990, the school's director piously cited the "violence" in the imagery as the problem. They did what I thought they should:  Paint the whole damned thing and start over.  It sucks they only did it because people complained.  It was violence from left to right, not just the part with Trump's head on a spear.
