Millennials blame boomers for ruining their lives

Data: SurveyMonkey poll conducted April 9–13, 2018. Poll Methodology; Chart: Axios Visuals

Beset by big college loans, inheriting two wars, and facing an uncertain future of work, a majority of millennials say baby boomers have made things worse for them — and a lot of boomers agree, according to a new Axios/SurveyMonkey poll.

Why it matters: If it persists, the generational divide could turn into political rivalry as the generations compete for limited tax dollars — millennials seeking government help as automation takes hold, and boomers insisting on promised levels of Social Security and Medicare.

Millennials pretty much blame everyone else for all their many short comings. Fact is that most geriatric Baby Boomers could still pound the piss out of the low testosterone Snowflake losers any day of the week.

I hate seeing conservatives and libertarians buying into the groupthink of generational warfare.

The unmitigated gall of these unctuous Pr(i)cks amazes me.  These generational asshats never miss a chance to obfuscate, deny and continue spewing self-entitled outrage for their failings.  Grow a damn pair.  Or ask your mommy where she keeps them so you can take them out to play with them....

Um... made things worse for them how, exactly?  What or which ""baby boomer"" policies, exactly, have made things worse for them?  Quite frankly, I don't think these millenials know what the hell they're bleating about.

Their solutions?  Asinine, mostly.  Like .... for instance....

Quote
"Remove all old government officials and term limits for the House and Congress," a 34-year-old male Republican said.

Hmm... I might could go for removing/firing all "old" government officials since it would remove one helluva lot of damned Democrats.  But... isn't that age discrimination???  Remove term limits completely?  Oh sure.... that'll work!   *****rollingeyes*****  What do they want to go to... a royalty government system where people 'serve for life'?  Do these stuckonstupid millenials even have a clue what they're suggesting here?  I don't think so.

Quote
A number said "Impeach Trump" and "vote."

Well if it were that easy to "impeach a president"... ie for no just or legal cause...what would be the point in voting.....ever?

Quote
"Sleep more because you will be less sensitive to negative emotions," said a 22-year-old female Democrat.

Oh yeah.... scientific fact proves that sleeping more keeps libs/lefties from being so emotionally negative.  Oh wait....

Asinine.  And probably, unfortunately, a perfect example of why this nation is circling the drain.  Because young liberals sometimes grow up to become old liberals.  And there are too damned many of them.  And liberals are known for resentment when it comes to their perception of not getting their fair share of taxpayer freebies.  They resent baby boomers for having EARNED their social security benefits.... when they haven't earned a damned thing and probably never will.

These people just aren't motivated.  Back in my day, lack of motivation was a that good thing.  I mean, it used to be that if some lazy ass was lying around all day watching game shows and stroking his penis, he really was not a guy who was going to be causing trouble.   Now days, these same losers go on a mass killing sprees.  What a Country.

The policies that have led to the current state of affairs the Millennials are complaining about were devised by the Greatest Generation and the generation before them. Its ridiculous to blame an age demographic when a political philosophy is responsible, a philosophy shared by a growing number of people as decades progress.

If the Millennials don't like whats going on they can change the policies. And I'll be right there with em.

Just because some jackass with a speech impediment, Tom Brokaw, tells us they were the Greatest Generation doesn't mean it's so. These problems they overcame were problems of their own making.

Among those of us who are now 60+ years old, there are many who (like me) have been working since they were in their teens or early twenties. We never asked for government help, and we never wanted it, because dependency was a greater fear than even hunger.

That said, there are hard workers and slackers in every generation, including the Baby Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y, Millennials, or whatever the hell demographic moniker one cares to apply to them.

The significant difference I see between then (1960s/70s) and now is that people used to be more embarrassed by the perception of laziness or dependency, whereas today it is increasingly excused or even defended as a lifestyle choice.

Gen X'ers are in general hard working folk.

This effect of blaming others for your own problems seems pernicious on the internet. And guess what? It ain't just limited to millennials, or liberals. I see a lot of old fart conservatives blaming their own problems on this or that.

They have to be singling out the batch of Millennials that entered college and/or graduated from same...during the Obama administrations over 8 years.

Their college degrees turned out same as Confederate money...or the fields they chose were put into a coma-like state due to over regulation, etc..

Not being able to get your career on track in your 20's.....having close friends still living at home with their parents, etc., will take a toll on anyone's psyche.

How many people were on freerepublic, living off disability, and blaming Obama for all their problems (from 2009 to 2017)?

I suppose they may have a point, but I don't think it's the one they're trying to make.  If it's the previous generation's fault, it's because they birthed the little Tide-pod eating, condom snorting, gun-grabbing rats.

Somebody voted for $20 trillion+ of debt that someone else is expected to pay back.

Somebody voted for endless government programs for free stuff that some future generation is supposed to pay for.

Somebody voted for all those taxes layered on more taxes that people who work are yoked with.
