The Okaloosa Republican Executive Committee has “uninvited” former Trump advisor Roger Stone from its annual dinner, following his publication of disparaging comments about former first lady Barbara Bush.

Among other remarks, Stone called Bush — who died Tuesday — a “nasty drunk.”

He also said she “drank so much booze, if they cremated her ... her body would burn for three days,” according to national news accounts.

Stone had been the touted keynote speaker for OREC’s May 12 Lincoln Reagan Day Dinner. Committee chairman Mark Franks said in a prepared statement that the organization takes “strong objection” to the comments and has “ended our contract.”

Why is it that Trump supporters and allies are so nasty all the time?  Their man won the presidency.  They should be happy.

Agreed.   I have no quarrel with the Trumpers,  and stand with them in their fight against the Deep State and the silent coup.   But there is no excuse for what Roger Stone said.   He's an arsehole,  and his virtue-signaling is repugnant.

Okay.   I'm starting a list.  A list of rules Kinda like the Gibbs Rules.    But this is the Cannon rules.

This whole thread is ridiculous, when someone dies and they weren't a Hitler or other responsible for much death and suffering, the right, honorable and respectful thing is to follow the rule of if you can't say anything nice than shut the F' up! I don't recall Barbara Bush doing or saying anything as First Lady to deserve anything other than respect at the time of her death.

I am a Trump supporter and I have class I would not be critical of Barbara Bush at her death I liked her although I am not to fond of the Bushes as a whole even though my dad was friends with the older Bush. She was quite a woman with a husband and son as presidents and was alive through both presidencies something Abigail Adams wasn't. I don't know if she drank it is none of my business if she did she was a remarkable woman and no one should take that away from her.

It doesn't matter.  You can have a ruddy complexion due to heredity.

And for the record, I probably would have drank too if I'd been married to HWB.  The strain woulda killed me early tho....and since she lived ten years longer than my mother, who did not drink, I'd have to bet that Barbara was not a drinker.  I think she lived a very healthy life... with humor and grace.
