Years ago, when Vanguard Airlines was in business, I took advantage of some ultra-low airfare from Pittsburgh to Las Vegas via Kansas City. In KC, the airline "ran out of planes" (I kid you not) so it rented a plane and a crew from Allegiant to get us to LV. The plane was actually comfortable and the crew was very nice. I believe at the time Allegiant was a charter airline flying only to gambling destinations like LV or the Bahamas.. Now it has service to a number of destinations from Pittsburgh, including St. Petersburg/Clearwater, FL. Only drawback is that the service runs only on certain days of the week. Otherwise, I would fly Allegiant to Florida more often.
