Trump to skip Barbara Bush's funeral

President Trump will skip the funeral service for former first lady Barbara Bush to avoid any disruptions out of respect for the Bush family, the White House said Thursday.

According to the Associated Press, the White House said the president will likely spend the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago estate and skip the funeral “to avoid disruptions due to added security, and out of respect for the Bush Family and friends attending the service.”

First lady Melania Trump will represent the first family by attending Saturday’s memorial service in Houston.

I sgree...it is a classy move. Good for Trump realizing this. I think Melania is going so he will be adequately represented.

By the way, in no. 10 -- the men standing on either side of the casket are Secret Service agents who had protected Mrs. Bush for many years.  Theyy stood guard over her until the very end.

I saw the story about the agents on TV, but couldn't find an online link to support it.  I believe some of these agents had served Mrs. Bush for years.
