First Lady Barbara Bush Has Died
« on: April 17, 2018, 11:54:05 pm »
1925-2018

I married the first man I ever kissed. When I tell this to my children, they just about throw up.

Barbara Bush was a fine woman; refined in taste, reserved in temperament, honorable in character, and committed to her family above all.

Rest in peace, madam.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

I hope her memory is a blessing for her family.  I really admired her.

In just about every picture it shows her wearing pearls; they became her signature.  She admitted though that they were fake.  I love this picture of her ... still wearing pearls:

Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Prayers up for the Bush Family.  Didn't know she was born in NYC.

Barbara Pierce was born in Manhattan. She graduated from Ashley Hall School in Charleston, South Carolina. She met George Herbert Walker Bush at age 16, and the two married in Rye, New York in 1945, while he was on leave during his deployment as a Naval officer in World War II. They had six children together. The Bush family soon moved to Midland, Texas, where George Bush entered political life.

No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

I suspect 41 won't be far behind.

My husband and I were talking about that and agree.

I remember that they were both hospitalized and Barbara wanted to be in the same room.

The hospital staff remarked about how much they loved each other.

The Bushes are a very close family, and this will be hard for them.

Prayers!

My favorite Barbara Bush quip was when she responded to the criticism that she didn’t wear nice clothes....

She said something like.... I wear very good clothes. I just don’t look good in them.  ^-^

I'll never forget seeing President Nixon weeping at Pat's funeral.  I think he lived another 10 months after her funeral.

Men often die after their wives do.

I especially think that will be true of GHW.

They were exceptionally close.

I am sure GHW is just devastated, they were married for 73 years!!  Yes, I anticipate that he will follow soon.

When Presidents are in the White House, they frequently sleep in separate bedrooms for obvious reasons. In the case of both Bushes, the wives slept with them.

I believe it happen soon.   There is lots of anecdotal evidence for these things happening.  Many die within days of thier spouses departing  in these matters.

Yes, they did.

Even the beloved residents of “Camelot” slept separately.  **nononono*

Both Bush couples have/had real, loving marriages.
