An apple a day can help prevent diabetes

Saturday, April 14, 2018 by: Michelle Simmons

(Natural News) An apple a day really keeps the doctor away. New health guidelines suggested that eating apple a day could help prevent diabetes. Other foods and drinks, such as yogurt, cheese, and regular cups of tea or coffee, are also being recommended in new health guidelines designed to prevent diabetes.

A team of researchers from Oxford University and the organization Diabetes UK came up with these new guidelines based on evidence from more than 500 scientific studies.

Apples are not a miracle cure or preventative.  Eating healthy, getting exercise and maintaining a proper weight can prevent Type II diabetes or lessen its severity.  Apples are fine, but so are other fruits and vegetables.

As for dairy and caffeinated coffee or tea -- well, you might not be able to go hog-wild with those if you have heart disease or conditions that can lead to heart disease, such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol.
