New York State Senate Passes Anti-Sanctuary Measure

The State Senate in New York last week passed a bill (S3698) to crack down on illegal-alien sanctuary cities. The measure requires the state to compile a list of the local governments that adopted policies that interfere with the enforcement of ICE detention requests for illegal aliens under arrest. If the policies are not changed, the entity would lose state funding.

Cuomo is sure to veto it and they know it.  Elections are coming up and the pols want to appear to be on the side of Americans.

"Although the measure passed the Republican-controlled Senate, it will probably will not clear the State Assembly, which is controlled by Democrats. Assemblyman Kevin Cahill from the Kingston area declared the bill “dead on arrival” in the Assembly."

The Republicans in New York have the slimmest of majorities in the Senate, but they do control it.

Without that, there's no doubt that the state of NY would be in a contest to lurch farther to the left than California or Massachusetts.

This proposed legislation ain't goin' nowhere.
But at least it's a symbol of united resistance to the democrat-communists.

I'm actually surprised the state Republican senators showed enough gumption to push it as far as they did!
