“Here, sir, the people govern.”  —Alexander Hamilton

“The smallest minority on earth is the individual.  Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.”  —Ayn Rand

Imagine a World Where People Are Free

Imagine a world where people are free to do whatever they please, so long as they do not harm others—even nonconformists who are in the minority.  Imagine a world where it is illegal for the government to make rules that interfere with the individual’s right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.  Imagine a world where freedom to pursue a better life or more wealth—even in a way not approved by the majority—is guaranteed, as long as every individual is willing to allow others the same freedom of opportunity.  In this world, the role of the government is only to protect people from being physically harmed or otherwise bullied or victimized by others.  In this world, it is not the proper role of government to protect people from themselves—from their own mistakes or their own risk-taking.
