USS Juneau
 

Outside the Federal Shipbuilding Company yard in Kearny, New Jersey, on Oct. 25, 1941, the USS Juneau heads into open waters. The Navy ship was sunk by the Japanese during the Battle of Guadalcanal in 1942. Recently, wreckage from the USS Juneau was discovered in the South Pacific. Just to be pedantic, the USS Juneau (CL-52) was not a battleship, she was a light cruiser of the Atlanta class.

Yep. Battleships were named after states.

Don't they call everything "Battleships" now that we don't have Battleships?

I did a quick Google, and there are a few Battleships mothballed, and only one "real Battleship" still commissioned:  The USS Arizona.  I think it's fair to say it's seen its last battle.   **nononono*

Nah. That'll buff right out. A little bondo, an Earl Scheib paint job and she is good to go
