Watergate Casualties and Convictions

In the aftermath of Richard Nixon’s resignation, Watergate continued to claim victims.

The final toll included:

â—¾one presidential resignation

◾one vice-presidential resignation – although Agnew’s crimes were unrelated to Watergate

â—¾40 government officials indicted or jailed

â—¾H.R. Haldeman and John Erlichman (White House staff), resigned 30 April 1973, subsequently jailed

â—¾John Dean (White House legal counsel), sacked 30 April 1973, subsequently jailed

â—¾John Mitchell, Attorney-General and Chairman of the Committee to Re-elect the President (CREEP), jailed

â—¾Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy (ex-White House staff), planned the Watergate break-in, both jailed

â—¾Charles Colson, special counsel to the President, jailed

â—¾James McCord (Security Director of CREEP), jailed

IMO the present scandal under investigation, went further to corrupt our system.

I doubt the results will be equal, however. But the site posted, gives the historical results, of when we pursued remedies for misdeeds aimed at an election.

@truth_seeker I think I missed the link; could you repost?  I have always found Watergate fascinating.
