WASHINGTON

A federal judge in San Francisco has ordered parties in a landmark global warming lawsuit to hold what could be the first-ever U.S. court hearing on the science of climate change.

The proceeding, scheduled for March 21 by U.S. District Court Judge William Alsup, will feature lawyers for Exxon, BP, Chevron and other oil companies pitted against those for San Francisco and Oakland — California cities that have accused fossil fuel interests of covering up their role in contributing to global warming.

“This will be the closest that we have seen to a trial on climate science in the United States, to date,” said Michael Burger, a lawyer who heads the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia University....

I can't imagine a less appropriate location for a "hearing" on Climate Change than a Federal courtroom.  Especially with a Clinton Judge.

California is getting close to watching its last large oil company Chevron, leave the state for good.

Occidental did it a few years ago and sold off 100% of its California holdings to ensure the break was permanent.

Chevron just may take this as the last straw.

California's demise will accelerate greatly as seen on this graphic

Global Warming is real even if you can't see evidence of it but a person's sex is determined by their opinion at a given time. #Science!

We now have a house in Mesa, should be out of California in about two months... I'm not sure I'm prepared for the summers there...

Next town over from me.  It's a lot like Palm Springs, only not as hot.

We in Texas, as well as the fastest growing state Florida, have the solution:  Air Conditioning.

Ever hear of it?

When I left CA 13 years ago, I banked the cash I made on the house and vowed to never return.

Steyn v. Mann is the first, but has been purposely stalled by Mann - to avoid a discussion of global warming "science"

Yes, but BP and Chevron should be able to present a strong case.  If I remember correctly, Exxon's Tillerson is a warmist, so not them.

Are they going to indict a ham sandwich? Or maybe a cow fart?
