RUSH: You know, I've been wondering about this for the longest time and it's one of the things that's, frankly, had me worried about the future of the country.

Look at California. Look at what we have learned about California politics just in the last, say, five to 10 years, how left wing and it is and how left wing it is trending. By left wing, I mean in many ways it's anti-American. Now that Governor Brown is leaving, there are many people worried out there that this state is gonna go so far left that it might not be recognizable, that Jerry Brown, Snerdley... Jerry Brown is being looked at it as a moderate by people worried about who is going to replace him.

Last thing I really don't need is for Californian refugees to come here and bitch about our wine. Our 400+ wineries produce excellent wines, though it may not have the panache (and price) of California wine.

And somehow, despite this and people ragging on California, on those lists of "happy places", California scores high.

But all of this shows, what can happen when the Democratic party takes firm control of a state.  One guy was telling me, Arnold swore he'd take care of the "illegal" problem but then, did not and that is a root of these problems. I myself don't know.

Colorado "seems" to be suffering greatly too, at least, the Denver metro. It really is a warning to any state, that what befalls one, can happen to others.

I lived out there before the Cali locust invasion of the early 90's. Except for Boulder, it was an awesome, awesome place to live. Now the whole Front Range is infected, I think the NW mountains are about the only conservative part left.

As an older, native of California I assure you that most who leave this state, tend to be conservative.

Disgust with the fairly sudden takeover of one-party rule, and impact on laws and culture, is just one reason for leaving.

The most common reason is when retirees cash in high property values, to go live elsewhere in less crowded, less stressful, more conservative, and lower cost places.

The same demographics that have impacted California, are ALSO underway in many other places.

California has become "the American Quebec".
That is, "a state apart" from all the rest.

Just as English-speakers are frowned upon by the Quebecois, so will English-speaking whites be looked down upon by the "California browns" who will soon constitute an absolute majority there.

Large numbers of traditional-minded whites will pack up and leave.
The result will be a one-party state with no hope of rational and reasoned governance.

It's all-but there now -- the new "jungle primary" system will in many districts result in not Republican/democrat-communist elections, but contests between TWO dem-coms, each trying to "out-left" the other.

And that's only until the new Hispanic/Atzlan party is launched, after which it will quickly assume the majority and even the white democrat-communists will become marginalized, as well...!

Well, if you don't like the cold,  Maybe try for points south of here. . Because it is cold.

But even here, the further away from town, the saner it gets. You won't see much different from where you are at if you are intending to stay in town.  Especially cities (Missoula, etc), but even towns can be froot-loop crazy liberal. (Whitefish and Bigfork here in the valley are a perfect example}.
