Seven Reasons to Beware the Southern Poverty Law Center
By Carol Swain The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) says its primary mission is to fight hatred, teach tolerance, and seek justice. These are noble goals for most Americans, but this is not a noble organization. It is the exact opposite. Given the SPLC’s power and influence over the media and members of Congress, this once highly-regarded civil rights organization deserves fresh scrutiny. Here are seven reasons why the SPLC fails to serve the public interest:
@rangerrebew@mystery-ak @CatherineofAragon Morris Dees who started the Poverty Law Center, set the FBI on my son to find him and confiscate the film son made on the KKK. Son hid from place to place around Houston, would not tell us where he was, until Rice University (son was a senior at Rice) got him a lawyer and lawyer went to the judge of this KKK trial and she told Dees and the FBI to stop hunting for son until he completed the edit of his film. Son came out of hiding and finished the edit. The film was shown in court with son on witness stand. Suddenly, son told judge that part was not his film. Dees had inserted OTHER film into son's film - judge told the jury to disregard that piece of film.
You can imagine what son and I think of Dees and his Poverty Law Center.
