Craftsman ones make great breaker bars and in a pinch a half decent ax on small trees.

They are a versatile tool.  One of mine is my permanent Lug Wrench

I've heard questionable things about the branded stuff the Despot sells like Milwaukee and John Deere. It is not the real McCoy but cheaper built stuff to meet a price point. I get all my Milwaukee stuff at local industrial supply place.
That is true.  I know for a fact that Stihl makes its low end goods to compete with the Home Depot brands.  The trimmers and blowers fall apart as they are cheaply made in China instead of the regular Stihl quality.

Never buy power or garden equipment from the box stores.

Hah, there was a Scotty's open in Orlando until around 1995.

Yep.  Scotty's and Builders were big Players in Tampa too during the 80's.

As far as hardware goes, I still try to support the local ACE guy, as much as possible, but they don't always have everything I need.
Good old Court's Hardware, on Hwy 90A, in Stafford, TX.
Been there a long time.

If you ever get close to Emory Texas, you have to visit Hooten's Hardware.

That one is a real hardware store with everything you need including the largest cased display of Case knives I have ever seen.

The cocaine money didn't dry up so much as they just figured out there were things that were just as lucrative and (mostly) legal.

No Infants, Children or Pets? That place sounds awesome! It would be even better if they add Old and Ugly People to their list.

Asking not to see old people in Jupiter is probably asking for too much.  However, they are typically rich and offer some entertainment value in watching them try to get out of their ferarris and maseratis that are too low the ground for them to get out of easily.
