Discovery Channel responds to reports that Trump wants sharks to die
By Avery Anapol - 01/19/18 03:41 PM EST

The Discovery Channel, the network behind “Shark Week,” wants President Trump to know sharks are "critical" to the ecosystem.

Trump, according to a second-hand report this week, once said that he wants all sharks to die.

“Shark Week celebrates the wonder of these majestic creatures and their critical importance to the ecosystem,” a Discovery Channel spokesperson told Mashable in response. “Their safety and conservation is the most important message conveyed throughout the week.”

Trump’s alleged disdain for sharks was revealed in a 2011 interview with adult film star Stormy Daniels, which was published earlier this week.

Gotta get viewers somehow.  Shark Week is pretty much their only draw.  Deadliest Catch and Naked & Afraid have played out.

I also remember when the History Channel had really good shows about historical stuff and not pawn shop/barn garbage.

And when the Learning Channel used to be about learning and education, the History Channel was about history and Arts & Entertainment (A&E) used to be about the arts?

Do I need to remind Discovery of their little Megalodon stunt from a couple years ago?

And lets mention that ABC NBC and CBS used to about honest reporting.    Man did they fool us!

I don't know about that. I seem to remember as a kid in late 60's hearing my father yell at the TV screen over the biased coverage, especially of the Vietnam war and especially on CBS with Walter Cronkite, but then their space coverage was pretty good. The Huntley-Brinkley Report on NBC was a bit better in my father's opinion, but not by much.

Chet Huntley was a conservative as was Howard K. Smith for ABC News. Try to find a conservative anchor now for the alphabet networks.

We've come a long ways from Huntley/Brinkley America, personally I like the 'soft p0rn' of Fox, muted, of course.

No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

No it was the Discovery Channel and they got slammed for it. Animal Planet, a Discovery Channel off shoot also did a similar "mockumentary" on mermaids.

I watched one of the "Earth" episodes on BBC America last night. It was about eastern Africa, and showed how eagles wait for a migration of fruit bats so they can eat their fill of them. I said, "Eat them! Eat all of them! Bleah, I hate bats."

Oh, the humanity. I was no more hoping for worldwide bat extinction than Trump was calling for mass executions of sharks.  *****rollingeyes*****

There is no more 'reliable source' than a pissed off porn star who throws out salacious second hand 'stories' about Trump so that SHE can stay relevant. All this stuff is about HER and her fame, not really about Trump.
