Fusion GPS Glenn Simpson: Russia used dossier to carry out 'an old fashioned purge'

One of the co-founders of the opposition research firm Fusion GPS told House investigators in November that the Russian government appeared to carry out an “old fashioned purge†after the release of the so-called Steele Dossier.
Glenn Simpson told the House Intelligence Committee that shortly following the publication of his firm’s dossier “there was a series of episodes where people were arrested or died mysteriously.â€
Simpson revealed the information during questioning by Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Calif., about the dossier’s sources, which was compiled by former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele. The dossier contains salacious, mostly unverified allegations about President Trump’s ties to Russia.
