Veterans turned congressmen push for DOJ investigation into Assad's targeting of US troops
EXCLUSIVE –
House lawmakers and combat veterans are urging the Justice Department to open an investigation into the role the Syrian regime, led by President Bashar al-Assad, played in targeting American troops during the Iraq war.

Two House lawmakers and combat veterans are leading a bipartisan effort urging the Justice Department to open an investigation into the role the Syrian regime, led by President Bashar al-Assad, played in targeting American troops during the war in Iraq.

In a December 7 letter addressed to Attorney General Jeff Sessions – obtained exclusively by Fox News – Republican Chairman of the Warrior Caucus Steve Russell of Oklahoma and Democratic Chairman Seth Moulton of Massachusetts claimed that from 2003 to 2009 the Assad regime was “responsible for assisting terrorist groups to cross from Syria and enter into Iraq specifically seeking to target American troops resulting in casualties and serious injuries.”

When we watched ISIS fight in Syria, a lot of those fighters came through Turkey, in the Iraq war, a lot of those fighters came in through Syria.  At least, it is said.

Copy of letter at this link, I could post it here but one would need to shrink it anyway.

One has to really hunt out the info; but the Bush administration was almost ready to expand the war into Syria over this stuff. Also, plenty in Iraq including their former President said Assad was helping terrorists. I don't think we hear enough about this.

Iran is a powerful nation, we are much more powerful but when this is happening in their own backyard, it is more problematic.
