Car rams into pedestrians in Melbourne; up to 19 injured
Associated Press

SYDNEY — Two men were arrested after the car in which they were travelling crashed into pedestrians on a busy Melbourne street Thursday, leaving up to 19 people injured, media reports said.

The motive of the incident was not clear immediately. Sky News reported police arrested the driver of the white Suzuki SUV that plowed into the crowd and another man who was in the vehicle with him.

Sky News said the driver was of Middle Eastern appearance and that he was wrestled to the ground and handcuffed after his vehicle crashed into a bollard by a cable car stop around 4:40 p.m.

The motive was not immediately clear?  YGBKM.  22222frying pan

It’s a shame somebody didn’t make martyrs out of these two.

Prayers up for the injured.

Authorities are trying to say the driver was known to have mental issues. No kidding. No mention of the fact that the second guy had a bag full of knives and was videotaping the incident for posterity and Islamo cred.

... A second 24-year-old man, with a bag of three knives in his possession, was arrested but police believe he had no link to the incident.

'Clarity on the second offender that is in custody, it has not yet been determined whether he was involved, and it is quite probable he was not,' Acting Commissioner Shane Patton said.

The 24-year-old man was seen filming the rampage.   ...

Victoria Police believe the incident has no link to terror-related attacks.

'We do not have any evidence to a connection with terrorism,' Acting Commissioner Patton said.

'At this stage we believe it is a deliberate act, however we do not know the motivation.'   ...

Let's just say that the perp's name isn't "Bruce."

It's amazing how many of these Jihadis have "mental issues," isn't it?  I'm sure liberals believe all killers have "mental issues" causing them to murder.
But  what causes these "mental issues" for the Jihadis authorities are loath to say. Can we say it just might be their religion?

The early morning news here scrupulously avoided any mention of the perp's possible ethnicity.  In fact, they wouldn't even say the incident was a deliberate act.

Police said the 32-year-old driver was the sole occupant of the white Suzuki 4WD at the time of the crash.

He’s an Australian citizen of Afghan descent who was known to police but only for minor offenses.

A second man arrested at the scene is not believed to be connected to the incident, police said.

There’s been no change in the state’s threat levels.

I'll bet despite the media's efforts, 99% of people hearing about these attacks immediately suspected it was most likely some jihadi or jihadis.
The media can attempt to hide the truth only for so long...people eventually catch on. No other group is doing these sorts of things lately. Only Muslims.

Yet, I find it interesting that, when there is a mass shooting in this country, the media automatically blames those "white, Christian gun nuts."

The media did stop for a while after the San Bernadino shootings when it turned out the perps were Muslim jihadis.   But not for long.

It is good, that Trump sought, held out for and eventually obtained more strict vetting of potentially dangerous migrants.

It appears he may have been nuts, but it still was a terrorist attack.

Accused Flinders Street driver says 'poor treatment of Muslims' motivated him
Yahoo7 and Agencies / 9:03am AEDT

The driver accused of mowing down crowds on Flinders Street attributed his alleged actions to "the treatment of Muslims," according to police.

Victoria Police Acting Chief Commissioner Shane Patton says the offender is in hospital with minor injuries. Police are investigating the offender's history of mental health and drug abuse.

A four-year-old boy with head injuries and an 83-year-old man are among 19 people injured in the incident at Flinders Street on Thursday afternoon when a 4WD allegedly drove into pedestrians.

The driver, a 32-year-old Australian citizen of Afghan descent, was arrested after being dragged out of the car by an off-duty police sergeant who is having surgery for a hand injury on Friday.

Acting Police Chief Commissioner Shane Patton said while the accused driver was yet to be formally interviewed he did make a number "utterances" to investigators overnight.

"He spoke about dreams, he spoke about voices but he also did attribute some of his actions to the poor treatment of Muslims," Mr Patton told Nine Network on Friday.

Asked if there were links to terrorism, he said: "That's certainly one area we're exploring in respect to motivation."   ...
