Being called a “snowflake” is damaging to mental health, young people say.  Figures show that the majority of young people think the term is unfair – and even more think it could have a negative effect of its own.

The “snowflake generation” is a disparaging term now commonly used to refer to young people, who are perceived to be over-sensitive and intolerant of disagreement.

But research by insurance firm Aviva found that 72 per cent of 16-24 year-olds think the term is unfairly applied, while 74 per cent think it could have a negative effect on young people’s mental health.

I actually do suffer from low self esteem

I've learned to hide it, and use chocolate

And not ask for favors

My son and daughter in law, both highly educated in the California university system are the epitome of snowflakes, if anyone especially the unedjumacted like my wife, daughter or myself say anything contrary to their beliefs the club of intolerance appears. It's so confusing because in my family political discourse and dissenting views used to be acceptable. Hell my parents were democrats until the bullshit that the kennedys and the media pulled on Nixon.

IMHO.... calling the liberal leftists snowflakes is a step up and a compliment from what they actually are. 

Snowflakes are individuals, one of a kind.... and unique.  The liberal left are more like the Borg.  All indoctrinated and programed to think the same way, with no tolerance of differing opinions.  And by virtue of that fact, they are just not very bright ....as they suffer from a chronic, if not fatal, case of HUB (Head Up Butt) Syndrome. 

Add to that, snowflakes are beautiful... but they only last a fraction of moments in time.   The idiot left seems to go on and on and on (they live a very long time).

And snowflakes don't perpetually whine.... not even as they are melting into oblivion.

But I digress....

Back in the 60's we would have called them Flakes.  There were plenty of "Delicate Flower"'s  ( @Cripple Creek ) around then too.  No harm was done.  Funny!!
